7th edition of the CBL. Carling Black Label Brand Director, Samori Gambrah (black jersey) supported by both Chiefs and Pirates coaches, players and legends at the launch, Park Station. Jhb.

The CBL initiative, affords consumers a once in a lifetime experience that places them at the forefront of the campaign.

The 7th edition of the Carling Black Label Champion Cup has been launched with a higher level of innovation in taking the coaching experience to the next level.

For this year’s edition, consumers will be able to engage with the campaign for free on the USSD platform.

Further to this, fans across the country will not only be able to select
their starting line-up but will now be able to further entrench their
coaching abilities by selecting their preferred formation.

The four (4) formations provided to the fans are: the oldest but still in regular use 4-4-2, giving both attacking & defensive balance. The offensive 3-5-2 & 3-4-3 , placing more players up the pitch for high pressure football and the most popular attacking formation in modern football 4-3-3, leaving enough cover at the back for possible counter-attacks.

Carling Black Label is proud to evolve the Champion Coaches experience, which initially started with a vote for a single player, to selecting players in their specific positions, now starting eleven and the formation in which they play.

“We have witnessed the magnitude of the Carling Champion Cup over the years and the opportunity it provides for ordinary men to feel like champions.

Therefore, it was time to expand in honouring the ethos of the brand and holistically rewarding our Champion Coaches for their support throughout the years by placing all elements associated with coaching in their hands,” said Carling Black Label Brand Director, Samori Gambrah.

“Our partnership with the Soweto Giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates has truly been well received by the fans over the years, particularly bearing in mind the thousands of votes we receive each year from passionate supporters who love their teams.

Fans have been given the opportunity to Be the Champion Coach and it is something that they have truly embraced,” concluded Gambrah.
