PE gets nod to host MTN8 finals!

Although -behind schedule- this was confirmed by PSL and sponsors.

MTN8 CUP
PE bound. The MTN8 finals will be hosted in the coastal city Port Elizabeth on September 19.

The finale will be contested between defending champs Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town on September 19 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Normally, the announcement of the finals is done immediately after the semis but due to ‘bidding process’ this delayed the decision.

“We are pleased to announce that the Nelson Mandela Bay will host this year’s MTN8 final.

There were a number of factors that influenced this decision, including the response we got from the people of the Eastern Cape when we staged a Cup final there a few months ago,” said PSL CEO Brand De Villiers in a statement.

The venue also hosted the 2015 Nedbank Cup final with Mamelodi Sundowns beating Ajax on penalties after a goalless draw.

MTN has planned activations prior to the game, with loads of surprises for lucky fans at the stadium as well.

Kick off is at 3pm.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket outlets nationally.
