The Golden Lions and the Western Province will meet for a second successive year in the Absa Currie Cup final after both sides won their Semi-final matches over the weekend.
The final takes place on Saturday at Emirates Airline (Ellis Park) Johannesburg, home of the table-topping Golden Lions.
The much awaited clash kicks-off at 13:30, making way for the Boks versus NZ in the World Cup semi-finals.
Rasta Rasivhenge has been tasked to officiate the finals, his first Absa Currie Cup, the South African Rugby Union (SARU) confirmed.
He will be assisted by Stuart Berry and Jason Jaftha on the sidelines, while Marius Jonker will perform the TMO duties.
The Currie Cup dates as far back as 1889. It is steeped in history and tradition and regarded as the cornerstone of South Africa’s rugby heritage, and the coveted gold trophy remains the most prestigious prize in South African domestic rugby.
