Tribute Concert to welcome estimated 30 000 revelers, says Bra Sam

Gospel exponents. Jaziel Brothers will set the stage alight at the annual Tribute Concert on Saturday 2 September at Moretele Park.

Yes, revelers have been asking well toned questions such as, when will Spring descend to ‘show-off our yello-wish legs’ and ‘biceps’ et al?

Having said that be at the concert on Saturday 2 September 2017, to see if you qualify to be amongst best shaped, toned body for the Spring season. Yippee!

The main objective of the festival is to honour and pay tribute to South Africa`s musical icons and other people who have made a major contribution to the arts, and to offer a strong platform for the development of local talent growing from strength to strength.

The event has attained iconic status as the biggest and most popular one-day, open air, music concerts in South Africa.

The stage will be set alight by the likes of balladeer Ringo, Bhudaza, soulstress Lira, award winner Amanda Black, uncle Robbie Malinga  & Musa, stage choreographers of note Black Motion, chart buster and rapper Kwesta, Gospel exponents Jaziel Brothers, brr-phaa Selaelo Selota, the Swazi born Sand and Ladies in Jazz.

According to the country’s top organisers and gurus of entertainment world Drakensberg Promotions, they will also include a number of developing jazz artists as part of development in youths’ and social cohesion.

Bra Sam Mhangweni says its’ all system go and security has been beefed up to deal with any eventualities.

Soul-stress Lira also forms part of the line up.

“From production to stage we’re ready to welcome thousands of revelers expected on Saturday. When coming to security we’ve solicited the best brains to counteract any hiccups usually associated with such big events,” says Bra Sam- as he’s usually addressed within the industry.

However, his passionate plea to the masses: avoid buying fake tickets and only purchase from authorized ticket sales outlets, because this leads to unnecessary queues and confusion.

Asked on the inclusion of Kwesta and Amanda Black considering it’s a jazz line-up, he minced no words and opined its’ all about ‘synergy, groove and mixing both young and old’ because that’s what our revelers ask for, expected to draw record breaking between 25 000 and 30 000 attendants.

And we obliged, he said with tongue–in-cheek.

In the White Star Marquee, the outgoing Miss Soweto 2017 Nthabiseng Khasi, will host guests alongside ETV (Scandal) actress and Ambassador Mapaseka Koetle.

Brr phaa Selaelo Selota, an academic, will stomp until he dares no more as he gives revelers a time of their life at the Tribute Concert.
