Showdown looms between Ajax and PSL as court to decide fate

This is the first in the history of SA football.

Pondering next move? Ajax boss Ari Efstathiou’s adamant his team will bounce back in the elite league, pending High Court’s outcome.

At loggerheads is Ajax Cape Town and the Premier Soccer League’s Advocate William Mokhari’s ruling that he docked Ajax points and saw them automatically relegated to the National First Division for fielding an ineligible player in the form of Tendai Ndoro- who is no longer with Ajax.

Judge Denise Fischer will first hear the PSL/National Soccer League’s (NSL) leave to appeal in the morning. They are appealing her decision to set aside Advocate Mokhari’s ruling.

Ajax boss Ari Efstathiou is adamant to fight tooth and nail to see his side back in the elite league, despite financial drain from numerous court appearances.

Meanwhile, PSL has released fixtures for the football season, which begins on August 4, with the exclusion of Ajax despite pending court case.

The hearing will begin at 11:30am.
