This follows ten up and coming selected djs last week by the judges and the sponsors.
Since 2009 Fortune Thango aka DJ Douza, has been entering the challenge but without luck and his rival Jabulani Mawela simply known as DJ Mafesion from Wattville, will be making his maiden appearance.
The lucky ten were chosen from over six –thousand entries and out of sixty auditions, will battle-it-out for R60 000 in cash and DJ equipment worth R100 000 on Saturday.
Victor Selaelo, Marketing Manager at Halewood International-which distributes Red Square in SA- said during the launch that, we want to give aspiring djs from ekasie the chance to show what they’re made of.
“For us, this goes to show the significance communities play in the company and the little we could do is to reinvest back by giving the platform to seek that limelight which in turn would make them future entrepreneurs in their respective communities.”
According to Selaelo, the competition could spill over to other areas in the near future.
With the decks cleaned and vinyls polished, the masses are encouraged to come in huge numbers to support and hear what the best ten wannabes djs have under their sleeves as they belt out hit after a hit…
According to the sponsors, some of previous winners such as the celebrated Dj Shimza are expected to grace the grand finale!
What would it be without Mo Flava and Tholi B from Y-FM and Metro FM’s Amon Mokwena and Glen Lewis, who will give their final judgments?
Gates open at noon until late!
