TV actress no more!

She died on Wednesday after being admitted at hospital last Friday, according to family.

The cause of death was not confirmed.

Nkonyeni was honored by President Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa for excellence in the fields of arts, culture, literature, music, journalism or sport in April this year.

The sterling actress was popular in roles such as Scandal, Igazi, Gaz’lam, Zero Tolerance, Tsha Tsha and Home Affairs.

She has also starred recently in filmmaker Jahmil X.T. Qubeka’s two newest films Sew the Winter to My Skin and Knuckle City.

“e.tv is deeply saddened by the news and our condolences go out to Nomhle Nkonyeni’s family and the cast and crew of Scandal!”,  e.tv Head of Local Content Ziyanda Mngomezulu confirmed the news to SowetanLIVE on Wednesday.

At the time of publishing message of condolences were streaming in.

She was 77.
