EFF elective conference- will Gardee, Shivambu make a comeback?

The Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) will be hosting its second elective congress at Nasrec- Johannesburg starting today 13 to 16 December 2019.

“Juju” as Malema is popularly known is heading to the conference with a favoured list of candidates, leaving out some of his top six, according to unconfirmed reports.

If such reports are anything to go by, this would mean his position would be uncontested.

Rumour-mill has it that Marshall Dlamini is tipped to replace the lacklustre Godrich Gardee as the EFF’s secretary-general.

Dlamini, who is seen by many as close ally to Malema, is a businessman with interest in Construction and Plant Hire.

He’s cantankerous having been linked to controversial tender riggings in metros where his party has a strong political followership.

With Advocate Dali Mpofu also rumoured to be ‘deployed’ other leaders within the organizations are reported to keep cards close to their chests on positions they will be eyeing at the elective congress.

The posts of deputy president and secretary general are expected to be contested.

Nasrec will be teeming with thousands of red-berets members from all over the country over a four-day conference.

Security, cops and private law enforcement agencies will be deployed in and around the vicinity.

Meanwhile, the SACP concluded its special congress held at Kempton Park.

GS Blade Nzimande says the organization is committed to its previous resolution which reaffirmed commitment to the alliance.

He said they’ve given green light to its party members to contest elections on circumstances where the party feels it has not been properly consulted and bad candidates have been fielded by the ruling party.
