Both companies will make affordable dispensary of medicines through the counter at almost 150 pharmacies in the country.
With Bestmed dealing with medical schemes and Medirite specializing in pharmacies, this is a milestone within the medical field in SA for both companies to combat rising costs of medicine, more for the underprivileged.
“Partnering with MediRite provides our members with an advantage of low medicine costs as well as the convenience of collecting medication and buying groceries in one facility,” says Alan Fritz, Executive Head of Sales, Marketing and Distribution at Bestmed.
“MediRite is part of the Bestmed Preferred Provider Pharmacy Network and is a designated service provider (DSP) for medicines dispensed to our members,” he adds.
Medirite Pharmacies are found at both Shoprite and Checkers outlets, respectively, whose target market ranges from Living Standard Measure (4-7) to higher end (8-10) which means anyone can afford medicine of his choice.
So, nightmares will be the thing of the past for those who cannot afford medication.
Members can collect their medication, do their grocery shopping, book at Computicket, pay store amenities and transfer funds via Money Markets.
Members can also enjoy discount prices on food with Checkers and Shoprite stores via the Eezi-coupon system.
“It’s all about enhancing our members’ experience by adding convenience and containing costs,” continued Fritz.
This means more saving for the ordinary!

“At least I will be able to save a little for my four grand-children,” she says excitedly.
