J-Flo’s EP release ‘What did you Expect?’ has tongues wagging

The listening session was a pomp and ceremony that fitted the evening -held at the swanky barber-shop salon, Fourways, last week.

The EP features seven songs of which J- Flo says was a matter of back and forth as a result of the pandemic.

Fans asked for it, so here it is, he said grinning from ear to mouth.

“The album was meant to be out three years’ ago but due to unfortunate breakout of Coronavirus had to shelve it, until now. I guess it gave us ample time to twig a thing or two hence today, we’re officially launching it,” he says.

Born 1992, he is a South African actor, model, rapper and television personality. He became popular by winning the second season of the BET reality competition series Top Actor Africa in 2016.

He studied Sound Engineering at Academy of Sound Engineering in Jozi, where the bug of venturing into music had bitten.

Apart from glaring career as an actor, J- Flo wanted to test waters and boom- music became his second passion, and there was no turning back!

This resulted in releasing both singles High by the Beach and Outta Town. He’s also featured on Kelly Khumalo‘s single Jehova.

“I’m a spiritual person who fears only God and nothing else. Being that kind of a person allows me to challenge the impossible and tread where others fear,“ says J- Flo draped in chains, who also confirmed he’s influenced by the likes of Proverb, Stoggie and the late Tupac.

There is this belief that people tend to be fake and not believe in what you’re intending to do, yet they smile with you, knowing very well behind that big head of theirs, they’re lying and deceptive, he says with conviction, hence “What did you Expect?” a question many still fail to answer.

Rapping what he likes…

Despite his busy schedule J-Flo plays chess to unwind- a game that teaches him to make prospective moves when challenges tend to be at its peak.

The EP features Tell Me, One for You, Palm Shade, amongst others.

In his closing tongue-in-cheek, remarked “if you don’t like my EP I don’t care” an affirmation that drew a resounding applause from a handful guests. Tongues- wagging, why not?
