This is a record for the Swimming Olympian.
Le Clos has garnered two gold medals from the 100m and 200m buttterfly, 50m butterfly bronze, silver from the 4X100m relay and the bronze medal in the 4X200m relay, respectively.
To date, he has equaled Australian legend Ian Thorpe’s record of seven medals in the Games.
Le Clos (22) has won 12 medals stretching over two Games which include the five medals from Delhi four years ago for the Durban born, who is accompanied to the Games by his usual critic and motivator–father.
The 4x100m medley relay team of Le Clos, Cameron van der Burgh, Sebastien Rousseau, and Leith Shankland claimed South Africa’s 12th swimming medal at the Games.
Meanwhile, the netball team made a meal out of Wales in yesterday’s clash.
Our girls showed no respect to their opponents as they ran riot on them.
They now proceed to the next stages of the qualifiying pool.
WELL DONE GIRLS…
