The 2022 DStv Int’l Fest countdown has begun

THE ANNUAL DStv Delicious fest returns with confirmed mouthwatering line-up, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Scheduled from September 24 and 25, respectively, the must-attend fest take place at Kyalami Grand Prix, Jozi, as South Africans celebrate Tourism Month.

International draw cards features American superstar Babyface (show on 24) and 23-time Grammy winner Burna Boy, from Nigeria, has been billed for 25.

Local acts includes Major League DJs and kwaito legends such as Mdu, Kabelo, Thebe, Arthur Mafokate, and Trompies, for Saturday (24 September) line-up.

On 25th Sunday’s performances will be provided by Simphiwe Dana, Zanzi Makeba Lee, and Msaki.

Over 50 000 revellers are expected to show up for two-days, with estimated R500m injection into the GDP, according to Gauteng Tourism Agency.

More than just a fun lifestyle and music festival with over 50 000 patrons expected to attend, the festival is expected to generate an estimated R340 million in revenue, 2000 jobs opportunities and a further R500 million

Sthembiso Dlamini, the CE of the agency alluded: “Following two-years of plummeting tourism revenues, severe job losses in the sector and restrictions in terms of international and domestic travel, gatherings, and general hosting of events due to Covid-19 pandemic, the return of this festival and others in our calendar herald the start of an exciting period in which we can plot our tourism recovery efforts.

“We have documented proof that, the hosting of quality signature events drives increased tourist arrivals, better tourism revenue and builds a solid destination profile and brand equity as we journey together towards recovery,” she was quoted.

Over 2000 direct and indirect jobs opportunities will be created and SMMEs will benefit greatly.

Tickets are available from R690 to R5 850 per person.

The R690 tickets allow access to the picnic lawn, while the R1 950 tickets give access to the Delicious Lounge main area and a private VIP cash bar and designated VIP toilets.

The R5 850 tickets give access to the ambassador luxury suite with a “premium hospitality” unit hosted by chef and restauranteur Siba Mtongana.

The DStv International Food & Music Festival draws multitudes of races from all walks of life- locally and internationally.
