Bucs face the unimaginable Dondolo FC in the Nedbank Cup battle

ORLANDO PIRATES return to action this afternoon when they travel to the New Peter Mokaba Stadium to face Dondol Stars in the Nedbank Cup quarter finals.

The Buccaneers are two matches away from another cup final, but face a tricky test in a rather unfamiliar opponent.

Jose Riveiro’s side have already won the previous cup of the season (MTN8) and, the Nedbank Cup trophy is well on the agenda at Mayfair.

Dondol Stars are this season’s surprise Ke Yona package. The ABC Motsepe League side have already defeated SuperSport United and AmaZulu in the competition!

Jose Riveiro’s side got the better of Venda Football Academy in the last 16 while they opened the tournament with a solid victory over All Stars.

“Imagine if I told you we’re going into this game without any pressure. It would look arrogant or relaxed, which is not the case. We’re 100% concentrating on the task,” – the Orlando Pirates coach said as quoted by IOL.

“For all of you we’ve already won the game, and that’s the kind of pressure that comes with being at a club like this.

“Working for a club like Orlando Pirates means expectations are always high and everybody expects us to be in the next round.

“It’s a competition and there’s an opponent in front who wants the same thing as us, so they’ll always be under pressure but it’s not negative.”
