Boks sign ‘sweet’ deal with Cadbury

RUGBY WORLD Cup winners Springboks sign a mouth-watering deal with Cadbury.

The partnership was sealed this week by both parties- albeit unknown how long is it?

‘’As a brand centered in generosity, Cadbury continuously looks for opportunities to bring fans closer to the action and experiences they crave. What better way to do this than by uniting two fabric of the nation brands such as Cadbury chocolate and local rugby heroes, the Springboks,’’ commented Lara Sidersky, Mondelēz SA Category Lead for Chocolate.

Boks are hard at training preparing to defend the Webb Ellis silverware in France this year, and the Cadbury- SAs No1 favourite chocolate, would help whet the appetite of our boys, as they march on the field.

Cadbury is a well-loved brand with a legacy of doing good in the world.

With a vision of bringing people together through acts of generosity, Cadbury’s outlook aligns with that of a South African institution such as the Springboks who have shown time and again the power of their gees in uniting the country.

Rian Oberholzer, CEO of SA Rugby adds, “We are delighted to be partnering with such an iconic brand as Cadbury – a name that resonates around the world.’’

“Cadbury’s commitment to excellence and their unwavering dedication to always adding that little bit extra to bring people closer together, aligns perfectly with our own values as an organization. This collaboration represents a powerful union of two iconic brands that share a common goal of uplifting spirits and fostering a sense of togetherness.”

The confectionery partnership adds to other notable deals the Boks has penned thus far. We can also confirm the green and gold has agreed to a six-year deal with Nike, that makes a comeback to sponsor the team once again.

Says Sidersky, we look forward to the excitement this partnership will bring to fans, unlocking more opportunities and experiences that we hope will continue to surprise and delight our audience.

‘’We will be rallying our nation to get behind the Springboks, encouraging them to join the #CadburyFanClub and show their support towards their favourite Cadbury chocolate for the opportunity to stand a chance to win big with the Springboks and Cadbury,’’ she says.

So, expect to see more #CadburyFanClub from July, as rugby champs wrestle their muscles in July for the Castle Lager international tourney in their new apparel.
