High riding Isuzu D-Max Single Cab is convenient for commercial use

ONE CAN not come between a bakkie and a South African, it’s tantamount for disrespecting a King, or a man entering your home with a hat on.

This bring to me the structurally madeIsuzu D-Max Single Cab, that I had to explore for two-weeks. One had to show respect to this subspecies, optional with black painted rear bumper.

Considering my body stature- I kept soliciting those unwarranted looks from other motorists, for obvious reason(s). Yes, it’s a long base (fitted with roll and lock cover) so such staring came with a price.

Isuzu has seemingly prepped the interior to accommodate blue-collar work as the majority of the cabin is bare-bones and no-nonsense. The cabin is also home to two seats, as you’d come to expect.

It boast infotainment screen, and USB, Bluetooth connection but is quite cumbersome to operate, at times.

One could feel the hard steering wheel, but gear shifter becomes the mainstays of the driving experience and its fairly competent elements.

Though not much off-road was conducted on this 1,9-litre turbo-diesel engine, the single cab workhorse is peppered with 110 kW and 350 N.m that culminates into a competent power output.

The high-riding Isuzu D-Max single cab is supported by coil-over shock suspension on the front with leaf spring over slung suspension components on the rear.

The Isuzu single cab is a wonderful addition to Isuzu’s commercial vehicle offerings and strong choice for consumers looking for a fuel-efficient work vehicle at an affordable price, with fuel consumption at (7,1L/100km)

Talk of fuel- I do not recall visiting any fuel station during my test- or am I missing something?

So, this single cab or Pick-Up should, and would not be, disrespected anyhow, finish & klaar!

The new Isuzu D-Max models are sold with a five-year/120 000km warranty and five-year/90 000km service plan.

It retails for R411. 800

Verdict

Performance 1-10 (6)

Fuel 1-10 (7)
