BLOEMFONTEIN: BAFANA Bafana showed they mean business.
After ousting the determined neighbours Zimbabwe 3-1 last night, during the WC qualifier at the packed Free State Stadium, this is the kind of performance fans having been yearning for, yours truly included!
The win takes Bafana to second position in the Group C stage qualifiers with seven points.
Believe it or not, Rwanda is topping the Group, but as things stand and our boys continue producing such magic, Bafana should be on top after drawing 1-all draw with Nigeria last week.
This was sentimental in that the same stadium, was where Bafana won their only group stage game – against France – in the 2010 global showpiece.
Sundowns and Bafana’s Man of the Match, Thapelo Morena scored a brace in his home-town, much to the standing ovation from his loyal fans.
This is a call for SAFA honchos to consider such stadiums for Bafana games, because fans are soccer hungry.
The other goal for Bafana came from Stellies striker Iqraam Rayners.
Zim’s goal came from Tawanda Chirewa.
This victory means a great deal to Bafana coach Hugo Broos who claimed that if they win all their home games they should qualify for the finals in the US, Canada and Mexico.
