“UNFORTUNATELY, the team I support is out of the championships” lamented Lucas “Rhoo” Radebe, with tongue- in -cheek.
The legendary footballer was an invited guest at the Heineken® 2025 UEFA Champions League finals: House Ultimate Champions League Final Viewing Experience, held at the GoldRush Dome, FNB Stadium, this past Saturday evening, that was turned into green and red ambient colours- synonymous with the Heineken brand.
PSG were victorious having walloped the hapless Inter Milan 5-0, the highest score ever in the history of champions league finale.
Signing autographs and taking snaps with fans,”Rhoo” noted ‘football can kill you a real death’, post the results of the game. Other notable soccer legends included Sbusiso Vilakazi- former Sundowns star, former Chiefs striker Thuso Phala, and current Orlando Pirates’ midfielder Thalente Wandile Mbatha, who was accompanied by her gorgeous girlfriend, who did not want to identify herself.
The grand finale also brought fans and celebrities together, to celebrate the final in style with live entertainment, immersive experiences, and an unmatched atmosphere.
Talk of live performances, SA’s top ‘dawg’ Kwesta kept all and sundry on their toes with his popular hits, accompanied by an amazing orchestra and an imposing band, to signify the importance of the finals. To top it all, he consumed and shared his ‘nguthu‘ with alluring fans, with original nguthu song accompanying his antics on stage.
“The Heineken® House Ultimate Champions League Final Viewing Experience Final is designed to give South African fans a taste of the final matchday atmosphere with Heineken’s signature flair and is the only other place to be if you are not going to the final in Munich, Germany at the Allianz Arena.
It is the most prestigious, thrilling, and entertaining venue to watch this match,” remarked Bhavna Mistry, Heineken- marketing manager.

“The event featured a live broadcast of the UEFA Champions League final match alongside an immersive football experience, innovative hospitality, and appearances by celebrities, influencers and local football legends. It is the fitting end to an exceptional season,” continued Mistry.
“This campaign has always been about more than just football, it’s about the real hardcore fans, passion and the power of shared moments.
“From the Gameplan with Lucas Radebe, Julia Stuart, FreshByCaddy and Gaisang Noge, Social Screen in Hyde Park to Bastian Schweinsteiger, we have connected football fans in ways that are genuinely meaningful.
The Heineken® House Ultimate Champions League Final Viewing Experience is our way of saying thank you and bringing it all together,” says Mistry.
Other acts who brought the dome down and kept us warm from the very chilly Heineken bottles, were Nkosazana Daughter (she’s losing weight), K.O, Oscar Mbo, Focalistic, Emtee, Scotts Maphuma and others, as broadcaster of note and the man whom the champions league is close to his heart- Robert “Madluphuthu” Marawa, held the fort as MC with aplomb.
This campaign redefined how fans connect with the beautiful game!
