FROM Proteas winning the much coveted World Cup game against nemeses Aussies three weeks ago, to rugby World Champs Springboks showing no mercy against hapless Barbarians last week?
Now enters Banyana Banyana who are in Morocco to defend their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title, next week.
Yes, we’re a WINNING NATION, finish & klaar!
SansJermaine Seoposenwe and Kgaelebane Mohlakoana, who did not travel with the team due to their respective team’s commitments, Banyana arrived safely on Wednesday this week.
But it has now been confirmed both players have re-joined the team, according to coach Dr Desiree Ellis.
The defending champions open their account against the Black Queens of Ghana on Monday, 7 July in Group C, followed by the match against Tanzania on 11 July before they conclude the group stage against Mali on July 14.
“It was a long, tiring travel with a delayed flight, but eventually we got on board, stayed over in Accra and arrived here,” Ellis told Safa.net.
“Nicely settled in, very welcoming and today is our first training session. It’s a new place but it’s still Morocco, where we arrived at and I think it’s very exciting to be here, to finally get started, there’s a big tournament coming up that we need to be ready for.
“So, we’re really looking forward to the upcoming days where we will continue with our preparation. Everyone is in good spirits and really excited to be here and work starts now,” said Ellis, who also heaped praise on the preparations and the arrival of both Seoposenwe and Mohlakoana.
This is the winning nation.
