SINCE the news broke out that award winning and mega star Davido is part of the Scorpion Kings Live, the excitement is palpable in mzansi.
The Nigerian, who has a good rapport with SA musicians having collaborated on various projects, is certainly one of the draw cards to the show, scheduled for August 29 (Friday) at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria.
Betway Presents Scorpion Kings Live with Friends, in partnership with Metro FM and Converse, have released the final line-up that features SA’s crème de la crème on the day.
It was also confirmed both Kabza and DJ Maphorisa visited our living legend ntate Caiphus Semenya, who will be honoured live at the show, cementing the event not only as a festival of music, but as a celebration of African artistry across generations.
Fans can also expect a remix from the Kings on one of Semenya’s timeless songs.
On adding of a Nigerian star, the Scorpion Kings Live founders quipped: “Davido is family. Having him with us makes this a truly continental moment. “We’ve built this lineup to be history-making – and Davido is the perfect final piece.”
The main stage will feature a genre-spanning roster of stars, including Ami Faku, Aymos, Bontle Smith, Cassper Nyovest, Daliwonga, Davido, Focalistic, Kamo Mphela, Kwesta, Mafikizolo, Mawhoo, Mlindo The Vocalist, Msaki, Mthunzi, Njelic, Nkosazana Daughter, Nokwazi, Oskido, Phila Dlozi, Ricky Lenyora, Sizwe Alakine, Sjava, Thatohatsi, Tracy, Uhuru, Umthakathi Kush, Uncool MC, and Young Stunna, alongside the Scorpion Kings.
Kicking off the celebration early, the pre-show stage will keep fans moving with performances from 25K, Ba Bethe Ga Shoazen, Banques, Blxckie, Christos, DBN Gogo, Dihno, Dlala Thukzin, Venom, and Vinny Da Vinci, creating a full-day music experience before the main event.
