OPPO heralds latest Reno 15 series

THE Chinese brands continue to penetrate the South African market, whose focus is on fledging smartphones.

Recently, OPPO unveiled its latest 15 series- Reno15 Pro and Reno15 F, respectively at the media gong in Johannesburg.

The devices will officially be available from 7 February, according to Avashnee Moodley, Head of Marketing at OPPO South Africa.

The introduction of Reno15 Series, enhances imaging, display and battery capabilities while maintaining a premium mid-tier position.

Both devices feature slim, comfortable designs paired with large AMOLED displays and ultra-smooth 120Hz refresh rates, delivering a fast, fluid experience across scrolling, streaming and gaming.

The Reno15 Pro’s 6.32-inch OLED screen delivers rich colour and a near edge-to-edge viewing experience, perfect for Netflix marathons, because self-care is a goal that needs to be prioritised, while the Reno15F ups the size to a 6.57-inch AMOLED display, ideal for watching the latest cricket matches, a DIY YouTube tutorial or editing content on the go, because one has finally decided to restart their influencer journey in 2026.

Since today its all about camera features, the Reno15 Series is built to capture it all.

The Reno15 Pro leads with a powerful 200MP main camera, supported by a 50MP telephoto lens for portrait shots and a 50MP ultra-wide lens for landscapes and group photos. A 50MP front camera means sharper selfies and clearer video calls, while features like 4K video, Dual-View Video and even Underwater Photography open up creative new ways to shoot.

The Reno15F brings a versatile 50MP main camera with ultra-wide and macro lenses, plus a 50MP front camera, making it an easy choice for taking break-taking photos and immediately uploading it to the Gram. Consider ‘travelling more’ and ‘living in the moment’ ticked from the resolutions set.

Moodley conceded that: “South Africa continues to play an important role in OPPO’s global growth.”

“The Reno15 Series demonstrates our long-term commitment to this market by combining innovation, design and performance that is relevant, reliable and accessible for everyday use.”

The Reno15 Pro packs a massive 6,200mAh battery, while the Reno15F goes even bigger with 7,000mAh.

Both support OPPO’s 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, giving you hours of power in just minutes, which is ideal for busy schedules and unpredictable days.

Under the hood, the Reno15 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset for smooth multitasking and gaming, while the Reno15F’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 platform delivers reliable everyday performance.

OPPO also solicited the work of multidisciplinary graphic designer Mia Spinazze; alternative fashion designer Zeshaan of Haku, who specialises in handcrafted clothing and bags; and creative director, visual and fine artist Trevor Brunez, who brought their prestige to the local launch of the Reno15 Series.

“Working with these artists has shown just how powerful technology can enhance storytelling,” says Moodley.

She further added, “Each installation captured a different perspective on innovation – with Mia illustrating the depth of graphic design in her installation, Trevor exhibiting interactive fine art that explores the x120 zoom feature; and Zeshaan of Haku presenting Reno15 Series colours with an iconic fashion piece.

Their ideas brought to life through the OPPO Reno15 is a reminder that design is ultimately about people – what we feel, how we connect and how we express our experiences of the world.”
