IDAC former boss Johnson could return to the Madlanga Commission following latest and explosive revelations

‘FLIP-flop-knee-jerk, liar’ are some of revelations made equally by disturbed State Advocate Drushantha Ramsamy at the Madlanga Commission.

That’s what we called her in office, confirmed Ramsamy, because she would agree to this and out of the blue, say something totally different.

Punching from above, Ramsamy fought back, hard and smart against her former boss Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head, Advocate Andrea Johnson, whom she said lied under oath during her appearance at the Commission and seemed to have ‘throwed them under the bus’ hence we called her ‘flip-flop- knee-jerk’ at office.

Johnson, who caught the country’s attention with her unsavoury messages ‘hey gorgeous’ relationship with now suspended Lt Khan, has been accused by Ramsamy for having lied, following the audio recordings in which she instructs her to leave the country if the Commission calls her to testify.

In the recording, Johnson is also heard expressing concern about the commission’s line of questioning and its scrutiny of the unit’s understanding of the law.

“If they call you, you’ll leave the country. Okay. It’s not what you know. I didn’t know Section 28, I didn’t know Section 27, I know nothing. Okay. I was dumb as two bricks. I’m sorry. Yeah. But it’s okay, because you know what, whether we let it or not, they’re going to make our names shut anyway, because you can just see, you know, especially when, remember he’s a judge, you know, for him to make a comment, oh, well, this is basic law 101.”

The bespectacled Ramsamy, (who seemed relaxed and joked with the Commissioners) testified before the Commission on Tuesday, giving evidence about allegations that Johnson flouted legal processes during IDAC investigations.

“I think you Commissioner Khumalo, tougher than evidence leader Adv Sello,” remarked Ramsamy, that left everyone in stitches during her lighter moment at the Commission.

Following the breaking news, Johnson could be recalled to account to latest allegations levelled against her.

On Thursday, the minister of Justice- Mamoloko Kubayi and NPA boss Andy Mothibi addressed media on latest mess at IDAC.

As result, the Directorate will experience an overhaul at key positions.

An acting head will be appointed soon to lead the restructuring; there will be case re-evaluation including that of now suspended National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola, all dockets will be audited including of some senior officials; and that staff at the agency highlighted issues of irregularities.

Three investigators Dylan Perumal, Brian Padayachee and Suneel Bellochun are suspended.

Meanwhile, political firebrand and MP Fadiel Adams will appear before the Commission on August 11 2026.
