And the Beemer winner is. Happy moments as mama Alvina Mungoni (left) pose with daughter Sharon, in front of 320i BMW at the MTN Upstream competition prize ceremony.

Alvina Mungoni, the mother of a state of the art BMW 320i Sport winner Sharon Mungoni, says God really works in mysterious ways after the loss of one of her children last year.

“I lost a child last year and this year, look what happens now,” says Mama Alvina, who couldn’t contain herself during interview.

Sharon -who is employed- entered the MTN’s partnership with Upstream (Fitness Tips) competition, a leading mobile commerce provider of digital services over mobile devices, across 43 markets, launched last year.

“I’m going to use this money wisely. Firstly, I’m going to invest and secondly, pursue my studies or complete my mother’s home in Vhenda,” commented the energized Sharon, who recently got her Learners License.

Contestants were eligible for various prizes in three categories-Fitness Tips, Video Portal and French Lessons.

Seipati from Durban and Yandisa Dweba from Margate each won R500 000 and an unnamed winner from Mthatha walked away with R250 000 prize.

The competition rewarded customers for subscribing to MTN’s content services. Every subscription to premium content service is an entry into the draw to win one of the grand prizes.

“At MTN, we congratulate the winners. This bears testimony to our mission of making our customers’ lives a whole lot brighter,” says Larry Annetts, Chief Consumer Officer MTN South Africa.

“At times I was worried that my daughter might be into illegal stuff because she was deep inbeemerto her mobile; unbeknown to me that she was entering the competition,” joked the self-employed mama Mungoni, who originates from Vhenda but Meadowlands (Soweto) based.

“This win is indicative of my Setswana genes,” declared Sharon, posing with Mom next to her silver white Beemer. “This is for keeps”, she uttered when asked if she is considering selling it for something economical.

Both Seipati and Yandsa also declared they will use their lot to good use.

The award ceremony was held at the MTNs head office -in front of jolly staff and well-wishers.
