Izinja ze Game. DJU founders are imparting ideas with budding musicians/ Djs and practitioners in Durban as part of the 12th SAMC.

The concept was borne out of interest by well known DJs who realized there is a gap to edutain budding musicians/entertainers in the country.

Currently underway in Durban until Friday July 3, the ‘music educators’ are addressing challenges that up and coming musicians/entertainers battle with when attempting to enter the industry.

Supported by key stakeholders within the arts and entertainment industry, it is free to all attendees and practitioners but it will be based on first come basis.

One of the founders of the DJU, renowned DJ Oskido says: “I believe brand, DJU has always believed in what Mzansi has to offer musically.

South Africa is the house music mecca in the world now, and hip-hop is blowing up in a big way, and has seen international greats looking towards Mzansi for their next biggest signing.  All this will be futile if artists are not informed about their rights as far as their God given talents are concerned, and that’s exactly what some of us who learnt the hard way in the industry decided that newer artists don’t have to have it hard like we did.

All the people who need information in the industry just need to get themselves to the conference to be informed on various levels of the industry.”

DJU is the brainchild of Vinny Da Vinci, Christos, Fresh and Greg “The Maestro” Maloka.

It runs at Winston Churchill Hall -Pietermaritzburg for the first time- on Wednesday 29 June and then off to Lorka Lounge on Florida Road in Durban on 30th and 1st July.

It wraps up with demo session at Artizen Lounge, Kwa-Mashu, on July 3.

Other DJs forming part of the conference includes female DJ’s Network (FDNN), DJ Zinhle, Lesedi FM’s DJ Finzo, Sibusiso Hadebe (Ligwalagwala FM), Brewed Soul, C-Major , entertainment lawyer Kaiser, with special guest speakers DJ Ganyani, Emtee, Dimplez, and DJ Pepsi.

The conference has a good story to tell in that, it has horned the skills of 2016 BET award winner Black Coffee, DJ Shimza, DJ Tira, Heavy K, and  others.

Registration for the conference is at 10am and runs until 5pm.

Yes, what will the conference be without fun in the City that is also hosting Mother of all Parties show led by Chris Brown and the Durban July on Saturday?

But preceding that are parties strewn all over from Wednesday until Monday.

Mzansi is fast becoming the mecca for house music!
