THREE members of the Rustenburg Chess Club, are seeking financial aid to attend the FIDE World Youth Rapid and Blitz Championship 2025 in Greece, from April 12 to 18.
Head coach Martin Nkuna and two of his members- Ubuhle Mbhekeni Ramonyai and Tlhogi Dikolomela, have been selected by Chess South Africa, to represent the country at the Chess championship.
Ramonyai is an 8-year-old prodigy from Rustenburg Chess Club, who has consistently showcased exceptional skills, securing top positions in his age group on the Grand Prix circuit. He will also represent the province in several tournaments this year.
Dikolomela is a 14-year-old female chess enthusiast also from Rustenburg Chess Club. She is recognized for her strategic acumen and consistent top performances, leading to her selection for this international competition.
She will also represent the province in several tournaments this year.
The request for financial assistance would help cover registration fee: €60 per participant, accommodation, daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including potable water, transportation to and from Rhodes Airport on April 12th and 18th, registration/accreditation fees and all taxes (including tourism tax).
The price single occupancy: €770 per person, and FIDE entry fee of €70 (for both blitz and rapid) is not included and must be paid directly to FIDE by the participants.
The registration fee of €110 is already included in the above package, according to coach Nkuna.

The MKP founder Jacob Gedleyehlekisa Zuma, is very fond of the chess game, perhaps he might offer assistance.
The tournament takes place at 5-star Rodos Palace in Rhodes, Greece, from April 12th to 18.
