The case was opened by EFF spin doctor Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.
The Bekkersdal born Nkabinde, is the ANC Youth League treasurer general and Mabala Noise Entertainment boss.
According to Sowetanlive, Ndlozi is reported to have indicated ‘we have a score to settle with Nkabinde’.
“We have indeed opened a case against Reggie of the (ANC) Youth League,” said Ndlozi, adding that the probe would focus on all Nkabinde’s companies.
“Governer”, as he’s popular known among his peers, allegedly owns 24 companies and is rumoured to have a ‘special relationship‘ with minister of Water Affairs and Sanitation Nomvula Mokonyane.
Hawks spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi confirmed a case of fraud against an individual whom he did want to identify has been opened.
“The case was handed over to us on (Wednesday) and our investigators from the Commercial Crime Unit are on top of it,” Mulaudzi said.
“There is a lot that we need to look at before we can inform the person who is being implicated.”
Prior to Municipal Elections, Nkabinde hogged headlines for signing up 12 artists/TV stars into his label and also broke the bank by bringing world’s top musician Chris Brown, during the annual Durban July.
Nkabinde held a press brief recently to rubbish off allegations made by EFF commander- in -chief Julius Malema on corruption allegations.
At the time of publishing Nkabinde’s office had not responded for comment.
