Now, news from 66 Cannes is that the film has been bought by one of the world’s leading production companies Picture Tree International.
This was confirmed by the National Film& Video Foundation from Cannes after the screening of Blitz Patrollie to the global market.
Blitz Patrollie follows the adventures of two police officers who have had the misfortune of being stationed in a little known depot in the belly of the Johannesburg CBD. Rummy is bogged down with trying to start a family and an overbearing mother-in-law who just won’t move out. The overzealous Ace, on the other hand, can think of nothing better to do in the morning than to put on his lucky bulletproof vest and head out to kick some ass.
Director Andrew Wessels says:” The interest in our film has been phenomenal in Cannes, leading to a great reception during the screenings. We are very excited to be given this opportunity of showcasing our work on a global scale”.
Thandeka Zwana, NFVF Manager of Production and Development said that the film has a unique humour that will continue to attract the global markets.
“We are very proud of this success and to us this means that our producers and filmmakers work is of high standards, catching the attention of the global world”.
Blitz Patrollie is written by Kagiso Lediga and stars David Kau, Joey Rasdien as leads, David Kibhuka and Sans Maslamooney.
It is produced by Diprente Productions and distributed by the NFVF and Nu Metro.
