Recently, the Gold Reef City –as part of their social responsibility programme- hosted media and celebrities to spin and win for charity organizations for the Slots Factor Finals in October, this year.
The company feeds approximately 160 children and 40 elderly in and around Gauteng.
Having came third for my organization, others were so lucky to hit the R10 000 jackpot, such as Eric Phiri and a fellow lady journo.
Tshepo Moeletsi from Makasana Community Development that operates between Naledi and Emdeni (Soweto) oversees aerobics for Grannies.
They also conduct netball and soccer clinics at schools, and also teach the importance of arts & culture for the young-ones.
“We welcome any form of help be it funds or equipments to our organization, for the benefit of our Grannies and young-ones wellbeing,” says Tshepo.
Actor and the son of legendary John Kani- Athandwa Kani, also tried hard to spin but luck was not on his side this time around. R10 000 winners were Blind SA, Boithuto Community Project and Tutti Music Initiative, whilst other eleven charities each got R3 000.
“We help disadvantaged youths in Soweto by teaching music with a variety of musical instruments. Most of the children can be saved from life of crime if they are provided with the tools to face the future.
We want to provide them with a sense of purpose in life,” says Gold Reef City marketing manager.
This year, 80 finalists at the Grand Final will each receive an entry for a chance to win a trip to The Seychelles.
The prize is valued at over R70 000.
Casino Final Rounds will take place at each participating Tsogo Sun casino on Saturday, 17 September 2016, where top scorers from each casino will win cash prizes and a place in The Slots Factor Group Finals.
The Final Tournament will take place at Gold Reef City on Saturday, 1 October and will see 80 contestants from around the country play it out to win the guaranteed one million rand in cash.
