Cassper Nyovest’s album launch Thuto talks family and broken romance

Family tree. Cassper Nyovest and family that graced his third album launch Thuto at Zone 6, Diepkloof- Soweto.

Although the initial invite indicated it would begin from 2pm, only the Man of the Moment and his family graced the show way later in the evening.

And it was worth a wait though, as opening acts that featured the likes of N’gudu star Kwesta,  Riky Ricky, Naak Musiq, Kid X, DJ Vigilante, DJ Dimplez and twins Major League, brought their magic and kept us on our toes night long.

And hundreds of fans responded unhindered.

Thuto– simply referred as the one with education- is an album dedicated to Cassper’s sister Thuto who couldn’t miss his sibling’s big occasion alongside father, mother and other sister.

Family Tree indeed!

The 14 track album album gives listeners an insight into Cassper’s from his relationship with his father to his broken romance with ‘boiticilicious’ Boity Thulo.

“I did say it was my best album, and I knew it was and it’s only because of how much time I spent on it, almost 2 years. I wanted to release it last year on my birthday but I felt like it wasn’t ready yet. I wanted it to be perfect.”

“Then I decided to release it on my sister’s birthday because I also named it after her. She’s one year older than me,” said Cassper Nyovest born Refiloe Phoolo, after the performance as fans and well-wishers clamoured for his signature and kisses.

What would the occasion be without his latest sponsor CÎROC Vodka that kept bottles coming until wee hours of the morning?
