Influential, Powerful, Awe-Inspiring, Love, Multifaceted, Anchored are some of the superlatives chosen by the nine South African women, as they define what it means to be a Woman, completing the phrase “Women are…” the campaign tagline used by DStv to celebrate Women’s Month.
From TV stars to sports captains, fighter pilots to comediennes, presenters to DJs, activists, models and lawyers, these women involved in the campaign have truly made their mark in the world – with more to come. An advert will showcase on the channel’s platforms throughout the month of August to observe Women’s Month- celebrated on Aug 9 (Friday).
Model, lawyer and outspoken activist, Thando Hopa, Safta-award-winning actress and choreographer Lorcia Cooper, Janine van Wyk, captain of Banyana Banyana, South African black female fighter pilot, Mandisa Mfeka, Satirist, screenwriter and content producer, Lesego Tlhabi a.k.a Coconut Kelz, ‘Suidooster’ star Lindsey Abrahams’s, Fan-favourite, ‘The Throne’ star Tsholofelo Matshaba, SuperSport presenter extraordinaire Motshidisi Mohono, Multi-talented kykNET star Elma Smit, will all feature in the campaign.
