WHETHER he’s going to be contested is neither here nor there.
Economic Freedom Fighters will hold its third elective conference this week from December 12 to 15, at Nasrec Expo, next to Soweto.
Its headhoncho Julius Sello Malema, has been rumoured to be re-elected unopposed by the Gauteng branch.
There has been talk of disunity in the party following an exodus of key players who defected to join the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party. And sources within the party have confirmed on good authority there will be more resignations as a result of Malema ‘ruling with iron fist’.
Confirmed reports are party’s Member of Parliament, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, has been banned from attending all EFF political activities, including meetings of the party’s War Council, which meets weekly, and its Central Command Team (CCT).
The irony is the same Ndlozi, has been backed by EFF’s student movement to challenge Malema, that has not sit well with ‘JuJu’.
According to Sunday tabloid- Sunday World, Ndlozi was placed on a leave of absence, preventing him from doing his job as a member of parliament.
According to reports, Ndlozi knew about Floyd Shivambu’s departure two weeks before the announcement.
Shivambu is reported to have said some within the EFF knew about his departure, particularly (Ndlozi) and asked not to tell Malema that they were aware of his resignation.
Ndlozi’s future at EFF is at point of no return, I dare say it.
Will the party’s future be decided at this week’s elective conference, we await with bated breath?
These are uncharted waters; and it will be seen which other regions will back Malema for the third term.
Honestly speaking, Malema will ascend to the throne come December 15, unless a miracle decides to happen. He owns EFF and his blood is RED, finish & klaar. Amen!
