The precautionary suspension has to do with allegations of improper conduct by Siqaza, who is head of the provincial Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in Gauteng.
“The Premier views the allegations made against Siqaza seriously and has decided to institute a disciplinary enquiry to address the allegations,” the Gauteng Provincial Government said in a statement.
The head of the department of e-Government, Boy Ngobeni, will act as head of the department of sport, arts, culture and recreation.
Spokespeson for the department Nomazwe Ntlokwane was not readily available for comment at the time of publishing.
