This follows heavy protests and burning in and around the Tshwane area, on news that mayoral candidate Didiza, will take over the reins from current Mayor Kgosientsho Ramokgopa.
Tribalism has also been added to the fuel in that Didiza is a Zulu from KZN, and Tshwane is predominantly Pedi, Shangaan and Venda.
“Why should a Zulu come and lead Pedis, Shangaans and Vendas?” asked one irritated taxi driver.
Sources close to Didiza alleged she is consulting ANC structures and head office for possible resignation.
“She is consulting party leaders for possible cancellation of her nomination. Thoko is a peace loving woman; she can’t bear seeing that kind of violence above all she is bound to lose when voters are not happy.
“She was rejected because she is Zulu, “says a source.
At the time of publishing Didiza nor the ANC was not available for comment.
Meanwhile, Ramokgopa has denied being behind the unrest in Tshwane.
This follows unconfirmed reports that he was using his cronies to destabilise the appointment of Didiza, among others.
