That’s because the 2015 Jack Daniel DJ Scouts winners have been named in the form of Bones and Stones from Pretoria.

Bones & Stones. The 2015 JD Music Scout are simply known as Stones and Bones, the young lads from Pretoria.

Rainbow Nation, if I may…

The band is made up of Casper Steenkamp aka Stones (29) and Kgothatso Mohlaka aka Bones (28), who both met and studied music production and sound engineering diploma.

The announcement was made at the gilttering event last Friday at Katy’s Restaurant, Malborough-Sandton.

They beat other 6000 hopefuls who also entered the annual competition.

The duo win a R150k deal with DreamteamSA for marketing and promotions and will open a gig for US rapper T.I at the Jack Daniel’s Boomtown to be held in Jozi later in the year.

Speaking exclusively to SLM after their win, they said it was a mountain to climb as other competitors proved worthy challengers.

“We believe we’re all winners because of the stiff competition and discipline we saw from others.

“For us from now onwards the real deal begins that is to prepare shooting the video and making ourselves relavant to the public,” they said.

Stones & Bones is a blend of pulsating Afro House grooves with a touch of Rock and Soul.

Probed to describe their music, the Bones and Stones attest that their music is sub-genre meaning it infuses rock, kwaito and any dance music.

“We began playing music as far as six years’ ago and believe are ready to bring in something totally different hence we won because of our uniqueness,” they agreed in unison.

With age and enthuasiasm behind Bones and Stones, they are not concerned about peer pressure but producing quality music for years’ to come. Indeed, the bones have spoken…

Casper sealed it off with a kiss from his girlfriend.

The JD Music Scouts for 2015 were celebrated SA music stars Culoe De Song, KO and Speedsta.

Jack Daniel SA marketing manager heaped praise on the winners and said they should set a great example to up and coming musicians in the country.
