Tomorrow’s game of which is the PSL encounter, promises to ignite the love- hate-relationship effect which these two teams has had on the fans, and their not letting it go either.
At yesterday’s media brief held at Carlton Center-JHB CBD, fans came in droves clad in their respective teams’ colours ready to pounce on each other-literally speaking!
A Chiefs supporter all the way from Pretoria says, they will teach Pirates simple football: scoring goals. Asked why he made such a comment, the fan who did not want to be identified said, because they failed to convert chances when they played in the African Champs hence they’re out and, this Wednesday they lost to Santos by 3-0.
“Thina my outie (we) will show them how football is made easy.”
He wrapped it up by boasting that, the much awaited return of Simphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala is well timed after a long injury lay-off, he continued.
His counterpart at Bucs all he could say was “bring it on”.
Resplendent in full Bucs regalia and makarapa hat, Given Mthombeni, says please tell the whole world that losing to Santos was no mean feat.
“If those who believe the results of that game is anything to go by, tough luck because tomorrow will be a different team altogether, “he said as he blowed his vuvuzela unrepentantly.
Talking of the team preparations ahead of the game, the interim-coach at Pirates’ Augusto “Njenje” Palacious, told the press that it’s business as usual.
“Nothing has tampered with the mood of the players’ instead they’re more eager and raring to finish Chiefs’ owing to what happened against Santos.” Fitness level and moral is high and what we ask from our supporters is to come in large numbers to rally behind the boys.”
“Njenje” was roped in after the imminent suspension of head-coach Julio Lial.
Meanwhile, PSL and Stadium Management of South Africa have outlined security plans ahead of the match.
There will be no match tickets available at the stadium and visible policing will be all over the venue both internal and external. Body searches will be conducted at all entry points/ gates and turnstiles.
