This follows an anonymous letter that was circulated on social media by disgruntled employee purporting Maloka’s favouritism, financial mismanagement and allegations of sex against senior staff members in August 2020.
This led to the majority shareholders of the station Thebe Investment Corporation taking a step towards Maloka resulting in him being put on leave, though voluntarily.
Its CEO and KAYA FM board chairperson Sizwe Mcwango confirmed the suspension and reiterated the involved staff members were receiving counselling.
Allegations of mis-use of company credit card, favouritism, receiving of bonuses improperly, use of company resources for personal gain and others, were levelled against Maloka.
Mcwango was quoted as having confirmed investigations are on-going.
