Long queues greeted shoppers at Maponya Mall Soweto, as they rushed to make the best of Black Friday deals. Yes, no scams or whatsoever.
The queue to Pick n Pay was the longest in the mall and‚ by 6.30am‚ it already extended beyond the doors.
Many of the shoppers said they wanted to use the opportunity to buy for Christmas‚ while others were looking further ahead and stocking up on supplies for the 2017 school year.
“I have to buy stuff for Christmas. This is my best opportunity before things become expensive.
I want to buy food and other items for the house”, said Gift Moremi from Naledi, who said she had to do shopping before going to work in Randburg
