Marvelous Safari Oasis and more anticipated at the Windhoek Beer marquee at this year’s Dbn July horserace

ACCORDING to the City of Durban, over R690m will be added into the coffers of the City, pre and post the event.

The much talked about race takes place at Greyville race horse, on July 5 (Saturday), were thousands of fashionistas, punters and ordinary folks, will be in attendance to experience this immersive event on the entertainment and sport calendar in SA.

Not to be outdone, Windhoek Beer will curate the state of the art marquee for its guests on the day, sure to solicit the oohs and aahs from curious on-lookers.

“WINDHOEK participates in the Hollywoodbets Durban July because it is one of South Africa’s most iconic cultural events – a space where style, celebration, and identity meet.

It’s the perfect platform to bring Windhoek’s 100% Real positioning to life in a way that deeply connects with South Africans,” says Thato Mothibeli- Brand Manager at Windhoek Beer South Africa.

SAs favourite beer marquee will provide Game Drive photo booths and Windhoek-infused dishes to safari-inspired glam stops and ice-cold sorbet treats, it’s a whole vibe, and honestly the kind of marquee you’ll want to pop into between races.

“The Marvels of Mzansi theme aligns beautifully with the brand’s core values of authenticity, simplicity, and pride in local culture.

Since taking part in this event, Windhoek has seen a significant return on investment not just in brand visibility and media coverage, but in the quality of consumer engagement, and on-site experiences.

The marquee activation enables real-time connection with our audience and reinforces why Windhoek is the beer of choice for those who value genuine flavour, real ingredients, and meaningful moments,” continued Mothibeli, when asked on the brand positioning and returns associated with it.

The 2025 marquee is built around the idea of a Marvelous Safari Oasis, a space that invites guests to step away from the noise and step into an atmosphere of calm luxury, inspired by the textures, tones, and rhythm of Mzansi.

Says Mothibeli, on curating for 2025, as opposed to last year, ‘new experiences include the Harvest Table with South African-inspired dishes enhanced by Windhoek Lager, the Game Drive Photo Booth with Big Five cameos, a Pamper Pit Stop for refreshing touch-ups, and the interactive Bold & Fresh Windhoek Island, where guests can take part in a guided tasting and flavour challenge’.

There’s also a token system rewarding exploration, giving guests the chance to redeem Windhoek-branded merchandise or unlock VIP upgrades.

This year isn’t just about sipping a great beer, it’s about stepping into a celebration of Mzansi’s magic, the Windhoek way.

Away from the Windhoek marquee, acts on the day feature the likes of Mafikizolo, Lira, Goodluck, Hotwater, amongst others.

Indeed, Windhoek’s Marvellous Moments Await at the Durban July!
