McCoy performances are part of the Concerts SA Venue Circuit, whose aim is to foster a love and support for live music in communities, as well as anchor small and medium sized venues in urban and rural Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape.
Fresh from a USA tour with super band Uhadi in March and April, performing with South Africa’s most sought after musicians Paul Hanmer, Herbie Tsoaeli, Feya Faku and Justin Badenhorst, McCoy says it is more than fitting to come home to perform after such a long time.
“I can’t wait to perform in my home town for my old friends, new friends, families and fans. My repertoire will comprise of old favourite songs like Cape Samba, Icamagu Livumile and new songs from the current CDs.
McCoy recently launched his DVD, McCoy Mrubata Live at the Market.
He has also released a CD that was recorded last year in Switzerland called McCoy Mrubata Live at the Bird’s Eye Jazz Club.
All shows are R60 per ticket.
