The announcement was made at the media launch in Durban by SABC top brass.
“Now that it has got monies rolling I can vouch that we are going to have more media queries about people already suggesting that there is going to be riggings and unfortunately the awards are voted for by you the public therefore th
ere is not going to be any rigging’s,” says Kaizer Kganyago SABC spin doctor.
The awards take place next year in February at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Center, whose theme is “Legends don’t stop, they ask what is next“.
A new category in honour of African artists whose music is already being played on the public broadcasters radio stations, will be introduced at the awards.
Nominees will be made public soon.
