Metro FM music awards 2025 launched

THE majestic Angels View Hotel and resort at Kranskop, Mpumalanga was the host venue, on Thursday evening, that had key stakeholders, clients, and advertisers to celebrate the start of Metro FM’s awards season.

The nominees’ announcement will take place on Thursday, 27 February, and main awards have been confirmed for May 3 at Mbombela Stadium.

Unfortunately, the three-year deal with the Mpumalanga Gvt comes to an end; but it must be said the awards gave credence to the Mpumalanga province, from tourism perspective.

“The METRO FM Music Awards have a significant impact on the South African music industry and the country at large. Last year’s event was a huge success, and we are excited to build on that momentum this year. The awards provide a platform for artists to showcase their talent and for music lovers to celebrate the best in South African music,” says Nada Wotshela, SABC Group Executive: Radio,

“We would like to thank the Mpumalanga Provincial Government for their unwavering support and commitment over the past two years of the awards. This partnership, which has been mutually beneficial, has also ensured that as the SABC, we have also contributed positively to the economic development of the province, through showcasing the magnificent tourist destinations the province has to offer, filling up hotels and smaller lodges, supporting local businesses especially those in fashion and beauty industries, and showcasing local artists.

We also appreciate The Motsepe Foundation for once again coming on board to support the awards, as music and fashion go hand in hand, we welcome the participation of the AFI brand, and we look forward to what they have in store for this edition of the awards.”

The submission process for artists and record labels is still open until Sunday, 02 February 2025, on www.metrofm.co.za and the station encourages all eligible parties to submit their entries.
