SNEAKERS are meant for pleasure, gym or work, this nowadays.
Even at churches they’re synonymous amongst the young, old and our clergymen as well.
And Nspire has been launched to target such market, to be inspired…
Founded by an accountant by profession Tinashe Zano, who also studied an online course focusing on sneaker design and manufacturing offered by Complex & New York Fashion Institute of Technology.
“’Nspire’ originates from the word INSPIRE meaning “to make someone feel that they want to do something, and that they can do it”.
We are building a community for anyone who wears our product and is Encouraged to follow your dreams, at the same time giving back. Therefore, we say #Wear your Impact,” says Tinashe, whose business is Joburg based but orders can be made nationally.
“My journey as an entrepreneur started from as young as I can remember. I grew up with my grandparents and we would farm and go sell the produce at the markets.
I had a love for sneakers in high school and I believe that love for sneakers naturally carved my current entrepreneurial journey. However, throughout university, I tried various things like tutoring, making copies of notes for students and believe it or not, even tried event planning, at which I failed dismally,” he says.
As with any developing business challenges such asassembling a team for a small business with no funding, and sourcing people with necessary skills, and access to funding as the factory requires full payment before production, it’s a mission.
“No one funded me on this project, so I had to use my savings to start the business,” says the entrepreneur.
Future projections for NSPIRE, “we plan to expand our product line since more products are coming in the apparel space. Secondly, we plan to launch our first store in a year’s time, which will allow us to create more jobs.
Then we will launch more stores across South Africa”.
As part of giving back to schools, the company has pledged that for every five pairs of shoes they sold, will donate one pair of school shoes ‘through our giving partner Samaritan Fee SA’, assured Tinashe, who is inspired by “Shark Tank” episodes and listening to interviews featuring successful entrepreneurs.
Its all about the numbers for Tinashe and team, whose an accountant.
The sneakers are available for R999.99, inclusive of shipping to any location in South Africa, marked down from the original price of R1,200.
