Pragmatic Boks beat Australia 30-22 in Cape Town

YES, it was a sweet victory after the visitors won last weeks’ battle at Emirates Stadium, scoring 38-22.

Although not perfect due to handling errors- it was a celebration worth noting for Boks, who retained the Mandela Challenge Plate- which was on offer between the two countries.

The RWC are now headed ‘Down Under’ next week to start preparing for the two Tests against New Zealand.

Handre Pollard was deservedly awarded the Man of the Match award for another assured performance in the No 10 Green and Gold jersey.

Meanwhile, coach Rassie Erasmus stuck to the players who did duty for the team in their opening two Castle Lager Rugby Championship matches against Australia for their tour to New Zealand, where they will play back-to-back Tests against the All Blacks next month.

A total of 36 of the 38 players in last week’s squad retained their places in the group for the second leg of their campaign.

The Springboks play New Zealand on consecutive Saturdays – 6 and 13 September – in Auckland and Wellington, with both Tests kicking off at 09h05 (SA time).
