Proudly SA unleash fresh, festive campaign to drive local products!

This is in the form of supporting and buying locally manufactured/produced goods and services.

At the media briefing on Wednesday, PSA launched their festive season #localislekker campaign at the hip and happening AGOG Art Gallery, Maboneng Precinct.

According to Happy MaKhumalo-Ngidi PSA chief marketing officer:” The purpose of the launch is to remind South Africans to continually help grow the economy and sustain jobs locally, by simply buying locally produced goods or services.

“By so doing, this campaign drives the message of owning up to what belongs to us. Simply put: let’s support our SMMEs countrywide.”

Activations continue to roll out in areas such as Menlyn Mall November 19; Riverside- Nelspruit 26 and Maponya Mall- Soweto December 3, 2016.

Nationally 20 Malls will be targeted for advertising purposes.

Acting CE Eustace Mashimbye says:” The festive season is characterized worldwide as the season of giving and also a season which countless businesses benefit massively, generating most sales and revenue due to consumer purchases behavior over the period,” he said.

Mashimbye also confirmed that Inter-Ministerial Committee as promulgated by Parliament- chaired by Minister in the office of Presidency Jeff Radebe- will now work in tandem with other two key sectors namely South African Tourism and Brand SA, to intensify the importance of promoting and marketing locally produced goods and services and tourism is the perfect platform to do that.

They will report to the IMC every second week.

“The point is to have these three sectors working in tandem in developing skills, creating working opportunities and also seeking investment opportunities for our SMMEs,” he commented.

Put to her, why the notion the company is Joburg based, Happy agreed that it’s because we haven’t done extreme marketing national campaigns hence this launch to let the public know what Proudly SA, is all about.

“From here onwards, we gonna be in their face- watch the space, she assured.”

The partnership coincided with Gauteng Tourism whose mandate is to promote and market tourism destinations on behalf of the Provincial Government.

Barba Gaoganediwe GTA spokesperson in his opening remark said “we’re masters of our own destiny”.

“Gauteng is the smallest province yet we’re the most visited in terms of tourists numbers,” using family visits as one classical example.

Classified as a flamboyant dresser, Barba also made a mention that the German made BMW left-hand models assembled at Rosslyn Pretoria plant, has been exported for the European market.

“The fact these models are assembled on our home Soil, means we’re capable of producing goods of international standards. This augurs well for the economy and job creation,” said Barba, who also confirmed they’re in talks with other brands to be part of their lifestyle campaigns.

The launch was also graced by young entrepreneurs such as Mosibudi Makgato from Yamama Gemmer (Ginger) and Hands On Retreat Spa representatives, who spoiled us with some thoughtful back massages.
