THE Pretoria State Theatre is set to come alive, thanks to Psalmist Sefako, who will record his second album.
May 30, will go down in the memory of his fans, as they will dance and ululate at the new offering ‘Christ Revealed’ as Psalmist indulges his strong followers on his new path.
He recorded his first demo in 2007, and after releasing four studio albums, he made a significant impact with his 2016 live album “Ba Founela Modimo,” recorded at the Breytenbach Theatre in Pretoria.
From then on, Psalmist’s growing influence in the gospel music scene led to an invitation to join the renowned MTN Joyous Celebration group, where he recorded the hit song “Modimo ke lerato” on Joyous 22.
The track became a national sensation, followed by further hits such as “Ska sheba wa nnyatsa” cementing his place as a key figure in South African gospel, who is born Sefako Joel Mamabolo.
A qualified electrical engineer, has also appeared in popular South African soap operas such as “The River” on Mzansi Magic and “Lithapo” on SABC2.
Born and raised in the small village of Segopje outside Polokwane, Psalmist’s musical journey began in the church, where he started singing and playing piano at just 12 years old.
His early exposure to worship music quickly earned him invitations to perform at weddings and churches throughout his community, building a dedicated fan base from a young age.
