Red Bull Shay’ iMoto- as the name suggests promises screeching tyres

It revs off on October 19, its first ever championship in the country. In the past such gatherings would incite local authorities who described it as illegal for all sorts of reasons.

Participants will have to capture the hearts and minds of the judges and the crowd by exhibiting their best tyre-slaying skills. They’ll have to use the stage to earn the respect of the community and establish themselves as true street royalty.

The judges are respected industry spinners and opinion leaders from Magesh Ndaba, Jeff James to Shahiem Bell and Sparky Hendricks.

Round one will be a seeding round where the judges will score each spinner on driver skill and showmanship. But from round two, once the cream has risen to the top, the judges will be joined by the voice of the crowd in deciding the spinning champion.

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, petrolhead come see and smell the screeching tyres as engines take to flames from the likes of Gusheshe, shayi moto baba!

PUMA’s Pitstop will give spectators an exclusive deals on motorsport products.

It begins from 6pm until late.

Tickets are R100 at Computicket.
