Entering its 10th edition, the challenge marks the culmination of two and a half months long search for the next big DJ, following auditions across the length and breadth of SA.

The RedSquare DJ Knockout challenge is respected for unearthing raw talent in the form of in demand vinylist and Tembisa born DJ Shimza, among others.

DJ Kwanele joins the likes of DJ Romeo, DJ Divalash, DJ Pentse, DJ Lite, DJ Khomza and DJ and DJ Bhaze, as a winner of the 2015 Red Square DJ Knockout Challenge.

The challenge affords budding male/female local DJs a platform to showcase their unique skills.

The company’s core mission is to create sustainable jobs for youth’s and in return, employ others as a form of job creation in their respective communities.

Our research reveals that over 1000 jobs are created be it direct or indirect, pre and post the event, thus contributing over R500 000 into the coffers of the host city.

This is augmented by tourists from other provinces and also, during that period most of the travelers are on holiday breaks.

Selected finalists battle it out in front of a crowd (at the finale) for the first, second and third prizes totaling R135 000.
