This was confirmed during interview with the man who gave him the platform Robert Marawa on MetroFM’S sport show 083 Sport.
According to Mbuli, who hails from humble beginnings in the Eastern Cape, says the appointment comes with more responsibility.
Mbuli joined SABC sport department year’s ago as a young man, still wet behind ears but grew within the ranks to be where he is.
He said, would like to take his hat off to the likes of Mark Gleeson and Thomas Kwenaite, two well known football commentators on the African Continent,whom he looks up to and played important role in shaping his reporting skills.
He also thanked Mamelodi Sundowns, for giving him the exposure to travel and cover their games from the beginning of the tournament.
