Suzuki SA and Bucs sign a two-year contract

THIS is the season of renewing and forging partnership deals.

Sports has seen corporates deals been renewed, a sign that sports is playing a key role in our society, be it locally and internationally.

This brings to me the recent news that Orlando Pirates football club and leading automotive Suzuki SA, have agreed on a two-year deal.

The deal will see the Japanese made Suzuki serving as the Official Premium Sleeve Partner, proudly displaying its logo on the sleeve of the club’s playing kit.

“We are honoured to align with a club that shares our values of excellence, resilience and community,” says Henno Havenga, GM of Auto Sales and Marketing at Suzuki Auto South Africa.

“This partnership represents more than just a branding exercise – it’s about connecting with South Africans from all walks of life through the shared passion of football.”

Thandi Merafe, Media and PR Manager at Orlando Pirates says:” Our supporters are at the heart of everything we do, and partnerships like this help us move the club forward in ways that resonate beyond matchday.”

“Suzuki is a brand that understands the importance of local connection and national pride – qualities that align closely with what it means to be part of the Orlando Pirates family,” says Merafe.

Spokesperson at Suzuki Auto SA did respond to clarify how many vehicles and which models are part of the deal.

It was not established if the partnership would be extended beyond the two-year deal; and if development sides at the club are part of the deal.
