D & D is one of the Northern Cape’s flagship carnivals that keeps growing both from the economical and tourism perspective.
This years’ main festival boast epic line-up as organisers went all out to try and market the City of Kimberley tagged the ‘Diamond City’ by acquiring sought after artists and entertainers.
And believe it or not no international artist(s) has been featured, stru ma se kind!
From comedians such as Joey Rasdin, Tall As Mo, Swag, The Search, Riski Boy, Rhythmic Vocalists and Local Crafters to Gospel- its’ gonna be too heavy to stomach for the entertainment starved ‘Kimberlians’.
The Youth festival on Saturday 15, line-up has the likes of Lady Zamar, DJ Sbu, Twins on Decks, Fistaz Mixwell, Baxcha, Macduff the Selector, Collin Carey, Vincent, Dapes Le Dee, Sammy and others.
As per tradition Golf, marathon and Gospel also forms part of the week long fest.
Speaking exclusively to SLM, the excited and fully beard Sjava- who was not aware he’s part of the line-up quipped that he will be performing for the very first time at the fest and looks forward sharing the experience with the masses of Kimberley and Northern Cape.
“To be honest, I was not aware until you brought it to my attention that I was part of this massive line-up and, that I was on the promotional flyer, my brother.”
“Secondly, this will be my first experience at the fest since I’ve never heard about it until now. But nevertheless, I expect to have a ball and enjoy myself with my fans at the show,” he said with a chuckle.
“As you can see by the line-up I’m the only one with no suit; and this goes to tell the impact the festival has and the kind of musicians performing. I will be different and I expect fans to come in their masses to experience my first show in Northern Cape and at the Diamonds and Dorings festival,” when asked what should the revelers expect from him.
Amanda Black, Tshepo Tshola, The Soil, Black Motion, Thandiswa Mazwai, Lebo Sekgobela, Robbie Malinga, Vusi Nova, Musa, Sjava Kajama, Deekamo, SMS, Dineo, Hloni Linyawo, Meduduetsane Basadi, Jerry Kale, Naledi, DJ Pelo, DJ Lacoste & DJ Booker T, take over the main festival on Sunday 16 at Langleg Resort from 12pm.
