Tennis SA CE resigns for a lucrative deal

WITH THE sport on the rise at all levels of the domestic game, Tennis South Africa (TSA) announces with sadness that TSA chief executive officer Andre Homan has ended his journey with the federation.

Homan, who was appointed in February, has resigned from his post to take up an attractive leadership position in commercial sports management.

“It is with mixed emotions that I announce my resignation from Tennis South Africa to pursue another opportunity. It has been a privilege to be involved with tennis at this level and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the federation,” Homan said.

“There is huge potential to grow the game and TSA has the leadership to make South Africa a world leader once again.

“I will miss all the friends I made and wish all the players, coaches, officials and administrators everything of the best.”

Homan will step down on 31 October 2022 and his replacement is expected to be appointed within the next few months.

“Since his appointment, Andre has focused hard on developing and growing the game of tennis in South Africa,” said TSA president Gavin Crookes.

“We thank him for his many contributions and wish him well for the future.

“The TSA board has already begun the process of finding a suitable successor for the CEO’s position. In the meantime, TSA’s excellent leadership team and committed staff will continue to professionally execute their mandate to serve SA’s tennis community.”
